Judaism sits at the center of how I live. It's there in the Shabbat dinners with my family, in the connections I make with people around me, and in the questions I bring to almost everything else I care about. As a rising senior at Emory studying Political Science and History, I've come to see my academic life as an extension of my Jewish one: Tikkun Olam taught me to interrogate power and history rather than just record them. I learned to ask those first questions at my Bat Mitzvah, where entering Jewish adulthood meant taking on the obligation to give back to the world I was now old enough to shape. I'm a proud member of the Jewish community at Emory, and I'm grateful JOC gives students like me a platform to bring that pride into the open.
